Whitney Hixenbaugh (AKA Mrs. Hix) has been teaching in the public school system for over 17 years, with the last 3 years as the Art/STEAM teacher of West Point Elementary School, creating and imagining with students from preschool through 5th grade. Whitney has a Master's in Education from Old Dominion University and is licensed for PK-6th Elementary Education as well as PK-12th Visual Arts Education. In addition to her public school education experience, Whitney has 7 years experience as a preschool teacher through private institutions.
Registration is completed on a first come, first serve basis. Your child's spot is reserved with a deposit (supply fee). Balance is due prior to first class (Tuesday First class 10/7/25 and Wednesday First class 10/8, balance for both due 9/30/25). There will be no make-up classes hosted for weekly classes if a student misses class for any reason. We will do our best to get students caught up on what they missed in a timely manner. If Brickhouse Creations Studio cancels a class for any reason, we WILL host a make-up class at a later date in its place. If it is not possible to host a make-up class, a refund will be made. A one-time $20 Supply fee is charged for each session. All supplies will be provided by Brickhouse Creations Studio. Ages 1-510 sessions $100 + $20 one-time supply feeWednesdays 10:00am-10:45am, Starting October 8th“Mommy and Me” art class is a delightful way to introduce young children to art while spending quality time together. The class will involve one adult (such as a parent, grandparent, or friend) accompanying a child aged 2 to 5 years. Students will experience creativity and problem solving while exploring art materials in a group setting that will foster social interaction and cooperation.***please note that balance due will deduct automatically on 9/30, if reserving your spot with deposit***
Ages 5-910 sessions $150 + $20 one-time supply feeWednesdays 4:15-5:15 pm, Starting October 8th.Students will focus on drawing and painting skills using fundamental techniques such as blending, proportion, texture, and valueStudents will create projects while experimenting with different tools, brushes, and techniquesPrimarily, students will learn to use watercolors, acrylics, oil pastels, graphite pencils, color pencils and more***please note that balance due will deduct automatically on 8/22, if reserving your spot with deposit***
Ages 5 and up 10 sessions $150 + $20 one-time supply feeWednesdays 5:15-6:15pm, Starting October 8th.Students will explore the maker mentality through sculpting! Ages 10 and Up10 sessions $150 + $20 one-time supply feeTuesdays 5:00-6:00 pm, Starting October 7thIn this class, students will advance their drawing and painting skills. Your student will be assigned projects that they will execute on their own while being guided by their teacher. Each project they do will have a heavy focus on either Drawing or Painting and occasionally both. Students will be using acrylic paints, watercolors, graphite drawing pencils, and more.***please note that balance due will deduct automatically on 9/30, if reserving your spot with deposit***
