Whitney Hixenbaugh (AKA Mrs. Hix) taught in the public school system for over 17 years, with her last 3 years as the Art/STEAM teacher of West Point Elementary School, creating and imagining with students from preschool through 5th grade. Whitney has a Master's in Education from Old Dominion University and is licensed for PK-6th Elementary Education as well as PK-12th Visual Arts Education. In addition to her public school education experience, Whitney has 7 years experience as a preschool teacher through private institutions.
Iris Redmond had the joyful experience of teaching music for 17 years at West Point Elementary School. Iris is currently licensed to teach Music, grades PK-12 and English, grades 6-8. After retirement in 2023, Iris continues to teach music to preschoolers part-time at the Early Childhood Music School in Williamsburg. During her time at WPES, Iris directed 16 musicals and continues to work with the West Point High School musical productions, usually in the orchestra pit playing her violin. Iris is a violinist in the Northern Neck Orchestra, a member of her church praise band, and a happy music maker wherever she goes.

Mrs. Hix and Mrs. Redmond are combining professional forces for a day camp experience that is promising to be a one-of-kind opportunity!
Participants will learn songs and routines, design and create props, costumes, backdrops and more! Between practices and set creation, our little actors will enjoy the traditional camp experiences of nature walks, fishing, and crafts. The final day will end with a production for participant families that is sure to leave all with feel good belly laughs and smiles for the weekend! Register now to reserve your child's spot. Registration is completed on a first come, first serve basis. Your child's spot is reserved with a $25 deposit (supply fee). Balance is due by May 20th and will be automatically deducted on that date. There will be no refund for cancelations after 6/10/25, unless a replacement camper has been found.
